Turn your bike up the right way.
It will be easier to install the pedals if your AM1 is the correct way up.
You will need your pedals and the 15mm spanner included with your AM1 build kit.
Each of the pedals has a letter printed on the axle. 'R' for the rider's right hand side of your AM1 and 'L' for the rider's left hand side of your AM1.
The pedal threads are different on each side of your AM1. The right drive side pedal has a right-hand thread (installs clockwise), the left, non-drive side pedal, has a left-hand thread (installs counterclockwise). Ensure the pedal is correctly engaged in the thread on the crank, or this could lead to damage to your AM1.
Note. This pedal on the left side has a left hand thread, this is the opposite to every other component on your AM1 so you will have to turn the pedal in a counter clockwise direction to tighten the pedal. Carefully thread the correct pedal into the crank. This should be done by hand. If you encounter any resistance, ensure that you have the pedal inserted correctly. It is possible to cross thread the pedal into the crank if you are not careful.
When using the 15mm spanner on your pedals, do not use excessive force. This can make it very difficult to remove the pedals again in the future.
Once the pedal is inserted all the way up to the crank arm face, gently use the 15mm spanner to ensure it is tight. DO NOT OVER-TIGHTEN.
Repeat the same steps for the rider's right hand side pedal. Note this side has a right hand thread and it will thread in clockwise.
Lightly use the spanner to ensure the pedal is threaded all the way up to the crank arm. DO NOT OVER-TIGHTEN.
